Dear Readers,
In the July issue of Seaworthy, you'll find interesting articles with a lot of useful advice on using propane safely, stopping stuffing box leaks, and the difficulties of salvaging a large yacht. What isn't in this issue is any word on the trial of Bismark Dinius, the man who was charged with manslaughter after the sailboat he was operating was run down late one night by a fast moving powerboat. The driver of the powerboat, who happened to be a deputy sheriff, was not charged. The trial has been postponed several times and is now set for later this month. Barring another postponement, Seaworthy will report the results in the October issue.
On a happier note, take a moment to read the article on the back cover about the "Cookie Man," David Close. It's a great example of a maritime tradition that each of us, as boat owners, should aspire to.
As always, if you have any comments or suggestions, please send them to me at Seaworthy@BoatUS.com.
Best regards, Bob Adriance, Editor
